Exactly seven minutes after Kate left the salon
on that cloudy summer afternoon,
Her hair reached the peak of its beauty.
The monotone train station was suddenly illuminated
by such an unexpected shade,
the impossibly brilliant hues erupting from every strand.

she felt as vibrant as she looked.
On this day, lampposts bowed to her.
Flags flew higher.
